Dance performance evaluation

I think musicality and my ability to re create movements is one of my strong points when dancing. This is the main technique that comes naturally to me. It also helps that I take 2 hours of ballet dances lessons per week. I believe my Grease perofrmance was strong as I was able to work with the music, making it easier for me to re create them choreographed movements to an accurate level. Also, it helped that I was familiar with the songs; this helped me have a high standard of musicality as I was able to tell what the next part of the song was and which movements were held here.

Something I need to improve on is maintaining strong facial expressions through out the whole performance. This is something I had as a target for my last unit and I believe I have improved on this since then. Through out the Grease performance, I held strong facial expression through out until the end, where I lost this constant flow of expression. I tend to start off the performance with a clear facial expression which clearly links to the mood and atmosphere of the piece however I get so involved in the dance and movement that it sometimes slips by accident. So in conclusion, I need to carry on improving my facial expressions. I plan to have fully done this by our next performance piece, which will be in May and will involve featuring as chorus members in the year 13's end of year musical, CATS.
