I got a lot from this because you get a feel of how the other cast members are going to play their character and this gives you ideas and points you in the direction you should play yours. I feel that reading through helps me develop my ideas about my character, Lisa and what the characters in Dissocia mean to her in her real life.
The main feature I figured out today from listening to what voices people give their characters is how I need to act in the Britney scene. Listening to how characters such as Laughter and argument, I now know that I need to speak with sometimes a sarcastic tone and other times a meaningful and interested tone.
Finally, we split off in to pairs and threes, those who we work closely with at points in the text and went through a few pages of text and started to think about staging ideas. I worked with Paris on the very first few pages of the play. We figured out that in this scene there isn't much movement therefore, we have to compensate this with strong characterisation and gestures for example movement of body parts whilst delivering lines and changing if levels when tailing between one another.
