This theory is given by Konstantin Sergeievich Stanislavskis, who was a actor and theatre director. His ideas and system of how theatre and society work have had a major influence on how we look at theatrical happenings.
Dissociative identilty disorder is thought to be a result of child hood, emotional or sexual abuse. The illness results in it's patients having two or more personalities/ identities and they switch between these personalities with out being aware they are doing so. For example, when the person is in the mind set they are someone else, if asked about their true identity, they will have no recollection or knowledge of this person which is really themself.
I believe that Lisa in act 1 is the person that Lisa in act 2 aspires to be. Through her experiences in act 1, we get an idea of who she is and her mind and what things in her life she wishes and wants to do but can't necessarily do at the moment. I believe that characters we meet in Dissocia in the first half parallel those we meet in act 3. The best example is the goat in act one. The goat initially seems like a nice character but later tries to force blame on Lisa for things she hasn't done, manipulate her in to thinking she has done these things and try's to rape her. I think this character fits in with the character Vince, who we meet in act 2, he his Lisa's boyfriend. We can see they may be in an abusive relationship. We can here see similarities between the goat and Vince because in the second act, Vince blames Lisa for her illness and we can see she is being careful about what she says in front of him. The fact she stands up to the Goat in the first half suggests this is what she wished to do with Bince however can't seem to do it. Lisa in the first half here and what she does, is who Lisa in act 2 feels she wants to be.
