Thursday 15th January 15- introduction lesson

In today's lesson we looked at three specific areas of our lives and how we act in different situations. These were, being a;
Leader
Negotiator
Follower
I am leader when it comes to my little sister, there is a ten year age gap between so I feel I have authority over her and a certain responsibily to protect and take care of her.
I am a negotiator with my parents and I may not believe in everything they do or say however won't disobey them as I have too much respect for them. I will instead voice my opinion to them and find a common medium and compromise with them to create a fair out come.
I was a follower at primary school. This was due to my reserved and shy personality I had when I was younger. I would let others make decisions and to a certain extend tell me what to do. Now I am older however, my personality has completely changed. I am now a confident person who finds social situations easy to handle and enjoys experiencing new people and learning about drama.
I linked my character, Lisa in act 1 to Lisa in act 2. Her character changes abruptly in the transition between the two acts. Here is how I linked these two Lisa's.
I also decided that Lisa in the first act is a leader because the citizens of Dissocia idolise her as she is new and different to them. To a certain extent, in Dissocia, she is exploited by the characters she meets however finds it in her to voice her opinion and rise above this. I believe this is something she wishes she could do in act 2, when she returns to her self in the mental hospital. In act 2, I believe Lisa is a negotiator due to the fact she gets angry when the hospital staff tell her what to do, she puts up a good fight and argument however in the end, accepts what they say as she knows she need to get better for herself and family.

Finally, I looked at developing the image and personality of my character, Lisa. I decided on some details about her, such as what car she drives, is she good at time keeper and what she was wearing a particular day at the hospital. Here is what I came up with about Lisa.

I feel that now I have done this, I have a better understanding of Lisa which will lead me to being able to play her in a certain way. I am going to play Lisa in my own unique way because I have a certain image of how she speaks and acts around people in mind however I need to rehearse this to an audience and see how they react to her. I will make Lisa an interesting individual, hopefully playing her so that she is relatable for the audience at the same time as making the audience feel sorry for her as she has to battle her mental illness at the same time possibly as being a part of an abusive relations and difficult family members.
